#WutheringHeightsSoul
Been on #Twitter for more than 8 years…and I hv literally seen its mood shift...frm intellectual vibe to meaningless chaos. This place is now crowded with a hell lot of viewpoints…#love being one among them.Every other day I see people posting love quotes, proclaiming they hv deciphered love in its most intense form and I always smirk! Not out of arrogance,of course. But memory... Because my definition of love was carved long before social media aesthetics, back in my graduation days @ Miranda House,DU,North Campus. After reading #Othello,I was introduced to all the bruised shades of ego and jealousy thrugh #Iago and #Othello…And Cordelia became that quiet figure of father-daughter devotion for me. But if I ever saw true, consuming, divine love between a girl and a boy…it was in #WutheringHeights. Heathcliff and Catherine didn’t “express” love, they became it.I remember freezing the first tym I read Catherine Earnshaw say,“If all perished and he remained,I shall still continue to be,and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe turns to a mighty stranger.”
That wasn’t just affection. That was existence dissolving into another being...literally! And when Heathcliff, with wounded pride and burning devotion, says,“I hv not broken your heart, you have broken it and in breaking it,you have broken mine.” I felt love was no longer soft.It was fierce to its core! It was ego clashing with surrender...It was pain refusing to detach! That became my strongest parameter of love. Untouched till now...Such is the epitome of love I quietly carry in my heart. And yes…I even try convincing my parents,I won’t resist marrying someone of their choice…provided I feel that twinflame intensity can b created between us.Till then, lemme keep living my favourite classic in an undisturbed state… wile studying law alongside.
Literally smiling @ tymlines that think they hv decoded love…Lolz at myself!
